<reviewbody>Four enjoyable experimental electro-acoutistic soundscapes. <i>Beth Dorris</i> features sad minimal piano notes and loops, <i>Candy Tucher</i> flows sadly with piano. strings, and muffled voice samples, <i>Kyle Parker</i> is a favorite with its dense layers of repetitive structures, and <i>Raymon Dotson</i> offers warm piano, strings, clicky beats, and beautiful samples of childrens' voices.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>I have so enjoyed listening to this ep.

When trying to describe the soundscapes Angelica has created sublime was the first word that popped into my head, closely followed by enchanting.

<reviewbody>Dreamy melodies carry these sparse, atmospheric piano-driven tracks. With some understated click beats, spoken word samples, and flourishes in the right places, Arturo en el Barco takes disparate elements and creates something perfect and unique. You haven't heard anything quite like this before, but you'll like it. Get it now, lay back and experience this.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>like the best Sigur Ros songs, 'Candy Tucker' nearly brought me to tears. such beautiful, sad, evocative music. great instrumentation (love the use of accoustic instruments), and a very skillful, minimal use of voice samples and repetative figures. only one complaint: heartbreakingly short! right as it really begins to draw you in, the music leaves you. i want to hear more... still, it deserves five starts, even if it were half as long.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>Wow! The emotion that pours out of this EP is magnificent. While listening to this- I found snapshots of my childhood come floating up to the surface. Be prepared for an emotional trip while listening to this.

I really enjoyed the sounds that she creates-- the partially untuned pianoloops and the drowning synth in the backgrounds of these songs creates a very surreal feeling to the EP. I'm going to be watching this girl. Can't wait for the next release.</reviewbody>

<review><reviewbody>There are some amazing ideas on this EP. I found myself drawn in from the start of every song. Someone mentioned Sigur Ros in an earlier review...this is related to my only complaint with this ep...I feel like the songs don't resolve themselves for me. These songs felt like intros to a heart wrenching climax that never came. That said, there is much beauty in this music, and definitely worth a listen.</reviewbody>

<review><reviewbody>I’m not sure whether you can say that you’ve ever heard of job specific music but here I am befuddled as an artist names her album as one for students. Technically, this isn’t a student genre of music. It can be described as mood music or maybe soundscape music or even background music for movies or horror-genre video games. I guess the whole idea of soundscapes brings out the idea of movies which brings out a variety of emotions. A lot of the music on this EP sounds like music for scenes where people have their emotions under pressure.

“As I sit here writing this entry for gratisvibes, the areas of my mind echo with emptiness. My head fills with images of the past. Yet, I cannot see what hides from me. For I am alone in this dank dark room at 7:00 a.m. in the morning…”

The above situation or any other similar situation as above is very suitable for describing the mood of this music. Maybe it intentionally symbolizes the various darker moods that students experience when they’re busy on a harsh deadline or had another emotional trainwreck from breaking up with this person or the next. Anyway, if you have been a student before, you’ll appreciate this album. On the unlikely situation where you have not been a student before, then you’ll still appreciate it for it the range of sad emotions it evokes.

Favourite tracks:
Candy Tucker
This track could have been happy but you ruined it. Damn you! It’s a great track though.

Raymond Dotson
Deep meditative pad sounds fill out this track. Music for that brooding creature that is man. </reviewbody>
